“The past is never dead, its not even past”
What does this quote mean to me?
-I think this qoute means that “the past” will always be present in a way.. it’ll never dissapear or go away. Sure people will try to forget about the bad things that happened in the past, but it will always remain with us. It won’t pass. If something happens a long time ago, it is most likely that it will be brought up a few years later. It’s not like no one will ever stop talking about it just like that. Things have a way of coming back to us. Whatever happens in the past, happened. But that doesnt mean it will go away permanently. The past won’t die.
How does this connect to the Wave?
-I guess this connects to the way in a way because The Wave talks about how in World War II, the German people flollowed Hitler and the Nazis. And the kids didn’t seem to understand why this happened in the past. Well it relates to this qoute because The Wave experiment really gets the kids to realize that the stuff that used to happen in the past, happens now too.
Have you ever been forced to join something against your will?
-Well, I think everyone has once in their life. Ive been almost forced to, but ive never acually done anything against my will. People get forced to do things everyday, for example in school, you might not want to work, but it’s your teachers job to make you, and help you learn. Or at home, you might not want to do the dishes, but ur parents can force you to, they have power over you. One piece of advice, don’t ever let anyone push you or force you into doing something that isnt right.
How should we behave if we see someone being tauntes or bullied by a group of people?
-I would help the person. Or i would stop whats happening, well atleast i’d try to. I wouldnt get involved in the fighting. But i would try to make things better by communicating. Communicating is the key to peace. If you talk instead of use violence, things turn out way better. Well in most cases. I would also go to a teacher, or an elder person for some help. And tell them whats happening, because usually an elder person can stop the situation better than a kid can.
Should we try not to get invovled or should we intervene?
-Well, it really depends on whats happening. If the situation involves violence then, it’s better not to get involved and to get a teacher to sort it out. But if the situation involves talking rudly to eachother or something, then it would be good to step in and try helping in a calm way. Without making the problem even bigger.
Waiting on the World to Change is a song by John Mayer. He is one of my favorite singers.
I chose to put this song up because it explains what is going on in our world.

Lyrics:
Me and all my friends
We’re all misunderstood
They say we stand for nothing and
There’s no way we ever could
Now we see everything is going wrong
With the world and those who lead it
We just feel like we don’t have the means
To rise above and beat it
So we keep waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
It’s hard to beat the system
When we’re standing at a distance
So we keep waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
Now if we had the power
To bring our neighbors home from war
They would have never missed a Christmas
No more ribbons on their door
When you trust your television
What you get is what you got
‘Cuz’ when they own the information ooohhh,
They can bend it all they want
So while we’re waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
It’s not that we don’t care
We just know that the fight ain’t fair
So we keep waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
(Guitar solo)
We’re still waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
One day our generation
Is gonna rule the population
So we keep on waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
Know we keep on waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
we keep on waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
Waiting on the world to change
Waiting on the world to change
Waiting on the world to change
1. David tries to convince Laurie to forget the events that took place in Nazi Germany.
“Forget about it. It happened once and the world learned its lesson. It’ll never happen again.”
Do you agree?
-I disagree with what he said because, bad things and events happen all the time. We can’t control when they come and if they come. But we can try to forget about it. We all need to be aware of what happened in the past, in order to go on with our lives, and we need to be aware that something like it can happen again. You never know.
2. Should we try to forget evil events, and trust in the goodness of human nature?
-I think that we should get passed what happened in the past, especially if it’s an evil event. Just move on. And yes we should trust the goodness of human nature, but be careful at the same time.
3. Is evil an outside force? or are we all capable of evil acts?
-We are all capable of evil acts. Any one can be evil if they chose to be.
This week in Language Arts class, we mainly talked about the importance of writing. What is writing? Why do we write? We write for these four reasons:
-Communication
-Reflection
-Expression
-Processing thoughts
Writing isn’t something that should be forced to do, or done only when told. We should all write on a daily bases, to reflect on ourselves, and our day, or just anything really.
I learned that writing is a big form of Art. its a really good way to express yourself! Art helps everyone express themselves. through music, painting and writing.
In class we also watched a video, about how school is getting boring for many kids all over the world. and how our teaching is needed in our lives but acually learning the things that we are being taught, is very important.
We did start talking about the new book we will be reading, “The Wave”. The Wave is mainly about Power. What is Power? It is the ability to influence, or to change. We learned that everyone has some kind of power, wether it is bad or good. Power happens throughout the universe. Some examples are:
-Peer to Peer (friends can have power over you.)
-Student to teacher
-Alpha vs. the rest
I believe that the more power someone has, the more they take advantage of it.
I day dreamed about how my weekend is going to be:) and what I am going to do!
I wanted to let a few thoughts out about the video that Mr.R showed us, like how it kind of scared me. Thinking about how our world is getting worse and worse, and if we do not help, if no one helps, then it will “go down the drain”.
I had a really good week, and enojyed what we did in class… talk, blog, and watch mini clips.
Our class is working on a project about Labor. What we had to do, was research and find good and bad sites on the topic. And then organize our resources. In the end we had to make a poem, about labor and what we thought was important. So here is my poem:
APPRECIATION
Love life and be happy.
Appreciate what you have.
Your family. Your friends. Your education.
Life is like a flower.
It grows, grows and grows.
But eventually it will die.
So don’t waste a second of it.
It is beautiful.Appreciate it.
People buy and buy.
Not realizing that the things they are wasting money on are pointless- not needed.
Young, hopeless, homeless kids, babies in our world don’t have toys.
Children the age of 10 and above work instead of play.
Appreciate the delicious food mom cooks for you at dinner time.
While poor workers sleep in tight, dirty spaces with only bread to feed off of.
About 8 to 9 of them rest, eat, change in the same room…
It’s hot, sticky, and uncomfortable.
Appreciate every second you get to sleep in a clean, warm bed.
Appreciate the nature that surrounds you.
The birds that sing to you.
The winds that follow you.
Most of all the minutes of your life that pass by fast.
Love life and be happy.
Appreciate what you have.
Your family. Your friends. Your education.
Blood, tears, and sweat.
They spend hours and hours in the dusty heat.
Trying to make money for their family.
Yet they are forced to deal with it.
The school you master in.
The house you live in.
The streets you walk on.
The malls you shop at.
The cars you drive.
The action figures you play with.
The iPods you listen to.
The clothes you wear.
The pencils you write with.
All made by the fatigue hands of these workers. These human beings.
As you drive by do you see these people?
Do you may attention to them?
Or are they invisible to you?
Without them, you wouldn’t have the things you have right now.
You don’t have to have everything you want in life to be happy.
As long as you have what you need, it should be enough.
Appreciate the fact that you have caring parents that push themselves day and night to support your family.
Appreciate the fact that you have a wonderful life.
Love life and be happy.
Appreciate what you have.
Your family. Your friends. Your education.

I love taking pictures. Photography is my passion.
Here are some photos i’ve taken…

Today in Class…
-We talked about…
the amazing poem Mr.Raisdana let us read. It was called “Thoughts from Within”. This poem was so deap, and had message a very nice message to it. It was practically saying that our world is corrupt, and we need to take some action, and fix it before it ends. We also talked about “What is writing?”.. Well, writing has four major parts to it. Communication, reflection, Expression, and processing thoughts.
-I learned that…
You should always be really careful when you’re posting pictures and information on your blogs. Because you never know who can come on to your blog. You should never post information like, for example, where you live, your family name, what school you attend and your address. We also learned that writing isnt just something you should do for a homeowrk assignment. It should be practiced and done daily, so it becomes a habit. Writing is one of the most important ways to express yourself.
-I day dreamed about…
what i was going to be doing on the weekend, and who I was going to be seeing. I was thinking of going jet skiing, but turns out the weather was really cold!
-I wanted to say…
what I really thought about the amazing poem we read, but i never really go to.
